Calling all electric guitarists and bass players, from beginners to pros – we want you to be part of an Australian attempt to have 500 guitarists (the largest number ever) simultaneously playing the same song at the same place! This will break THE LARGEST ELECTRIC GUITAR ENSEMBLE Guinness World Record! Just to make the event even cooler, you will be playing alongside legendary Australian band The Choirboys, as they lead the ensemble to perform AC/DC’s “Highway to Hell” and help raise money for the Australian Children’s Music Foundation (ACMF) in the process! All profits will be donated to ACMF. Thanks to our good friends at Marshall, your ticket price INCLUDES your very own Marshall MS2 battery powered amp (RRP $55)! That’s right, you will be provided with the perfect little home / holiday rehearsal battery-powered amplifier (including batteries), which can be collected on the day before the record attempt.

Please read more about the attempt below. Please also join us on our Facebook page ‘ The World’s Largest Electric Guitar Ensemble ’ and Facebook Event. You can also check out our website for all the information about the event and latest updates. With your help, we can beat the record and make Australia proud!

We are excited to be an official event in the Sydney Guitar Festival 2018 program! If you haven’t heard of Sydney Guitar Festival, I strongly encourage you to read up on it HERE

Last year’s Sydney Guitar Festival had a series of sold out shows, which included local and international guitar maestros! What an incredible collaboration this will be; a true celebration of music and guitar culture in Australia.

The event will take place on Sunday 12th August 2018 @ The Concourse in Chatswood, NSW. The time and further details will be announced closer to the date. So pencil this date in your diary and get ready for the world record attempt!

This is the official attempt to break the Largest ELECTRIC Guitar Ensemble Guinness World Record. In other words, this is the largest number of guitarists simultaneously playing the same song at the same place. As the name of the attempt implies, this only includes ELECTRIC guitars, however, it is not limited by 6 strings only. Bass players are also welcome to participate. As confirmed by the Guinness Book of Records, as long as it is a commercially available electric guitar and is powered by an individual amplifier, it counts. The level of skill is not too important. Whether you are a confident beginner or a professional muso, you are welcome to join the event. Just make sure you’ve learned the right song and can play it from start to finish. It has been previously discussed in the Facebook group and we have decided to play ‘’Highway to Hell’’ by AC/DC! How cool is that?

Currently India holds the record with only 368 participants securing the record back in 2013, according to the officials from The Guinness World Record. This event is an official attempt, which we applied for and have now received approval of by the Guinness World Records. We understand the rules and guidelines, and we’ll strictly follow them to make it count.

Please join our Facebook group and Facebook Event and follow the updates.

Please NOTE, the amplifiers are designed for conventional electric guitars only (not bass guitars), but bass guitars can still be plugged into them if adjustments are made to reduce the low end in the output to not damage the speaker. In regards to Guinness World Record rules, this set up still counts!

Each participant shall be required to:

1. Learn the selected song and be comfortable to play it without mistakes or any aid. The music notes and tablature will be made available 8 weeks prior to the actual event;

2. Prior to the record attempt, read rules and guidelines provided by the Guinness World Record. The detailed rules and guidelines will be made available 8 weeks prior to the actual event;

3. Purchase the ticket and arrive at the venue 2 hours prior to the record attempt. Remember, the success of this music venture depends on each and every participant;

4. Register at the registration desk, collect the guitar amplifier (supplied with batteries), test the amplifier and report any fault to the event organisers;

5. During the record attempt, use your own guitar and guitar lead. The guitar should be tuned prior to the record attempt. Please bring your tuners as the event organisers are NOT in the position to provide tuners for everyone;

6. Play the entire song exactly as per the notes/tablature;

7. Have a great time in being a part of the official Guinness World Record attempt!

*** Please note, all updates automatically get sent to all supporters, however, this update is only applicable to the T-SHIRT SPONSORS. Please disregard this update if you are not a T-SHIRT SPONSOR ***

Greetings all T-SHIRT SPONSORS!

Thanks for advising your size requirements. I believe, we have captured all of your requirements and, if there were any problems, addressed them accordingly via emails. Should there be any outstanding issued, please contact us via the return email ASAP.

We did notice a few issues with the return emails, though. The most common ones were:

-       Requested sizes were outside of our range. Please note we only have S, M, L, XL and XXL. We don’t have anything smaller than S or anything larger than XXL. We also cannot provide kids sizes;

-       Using different email address when ordering. Please note, we associate all purchases with your name and the email you used at the time of purchase. If you are replying to our update via a different email, please advise which email you used when ordering the t-shirt. This will help us identify your purchase;

-       Being away or having issues with internet/emails. Some supporters were not able to access their emails due to various reasons. Admittedly, there was not much time we allowed for you to come back to us with the requested size. See below for resolution.

-       Not replying. Quite a few participants have not replied at all to this date. Could I please get the following people to reply to this update via return email with your preferred T-Shirt size (Only S, M, L, XL and XXL). If we don’t hear anything back by cut off date (see below), we will order Medium size T-Shirts.

image

Due to multiple issues as mentioned above, we have spoken to our T-Shirt supplier and were able to push the order day by 1 week. The cut off time for all of the T-Shirt orders is now 10 PM Friday 3/8/18.  Therefore, can all T-SHIRT SPONSORS please ensure all of your outstanding issues are addressed by us. Feel free to follow up with an email again if you don’t hear anything back from us within a day or two.

For those who still want to purchase the T-SHIRTS, please do so prior to 10 PM Friday 3/8/18 and advise you t-shirt size via return email before this date. Should we not hear anything from you by 10PM Friday 3/8/18, we will proceed with ordering Medium size t-shirts

This one goes out to  ‘World Record Supporter’ ticket holders! We just wanted to confirm that the supporter option you took is what you are after. Please note that ‘World Record Supporter’ is for people who would like to help out the campaign without necessarily participating. This option does NOT provide you with battery powered amplifier. You will, however, be located at the best spot to view the stage from and you will also go into the draw for a chance to win prizes from our sponsors on the day of the event.

If you wish to participate as a guitarist and receive a battery powered amplifier, please let us know via return email and we will provide you with the detailed instructions on how to swap your ‘World Record Supporter’ ticket with ‘Participant Sponsor (General)’ ticket.

Hi guys!

We have something exciting for you!

Brett Williams from the Choirboys has recorded a quick video tutorial of ACDC's Highway to Hell.

You can check it on our Facebook event's page https://www.facebook.com/events/826487597558454/

Please share it with your muso friends and get them involved!

As you all know, the song is super easy to play, but it's also easily recognisable and that's why it makes a perfect selection for the group record attempt!

The tabs/chords/notes are available from anywhere on the net, but if you're struggling, please use the attached file to practice the song!

Remember, our target day is 12th of August, so plenty of time to practice, however, don't leave it till last minute.

Thanks for your ongoing support!

Please invite your friends to participate.

Stay tuned for more updates.

Cheers

June 18, 2018

Hello again  to all supporters of our Australia wide World Record Attempt!

We just wanted to give you another update and to thank those who have encourgaged friends to join in the attempt since last week.

We now have 133 supporters which is excellent news and we are just over 50% of our goal.

So we are asking everyone if they can persuade one or two more electric guitarists  to jump on board.

With  your help we  are getting closer and closer to smashing  the world record ! Every one of you believes in this project and ready not just to put a few bucks towards it, but also come out and spend your time to be a part of our Guinness record attempt!

As you know, our crowdfunding campaign has an expiration day, by which we either reach the target and challenge the world by playing a great Aussie song, or not reach the target, return the funds to all of our supporters and regretfully step away from the idea of breaking the world record.

We encourage you to step in and help to share the information about this event with your friends.

Just think of this: if every supporter engages just one friend to participate, we will hit our target in no time!

And it only takes 30 seconds to invite your Facebook friends to the event and get them to jump on to the campaign page

Remember, all profits will go towards Australian Children's Music Foundation to support disadvantaged kids and change their lives with the power of music!

Thank you for being a part of this project! Let's make it happen!

Best Regards

The Largest Electric Guitar Ensemble

June 12, 2018

Hey to all supporters of our Australia wide World Record Attempt!

I hope you had some good rest during the long weekend!

We've had a great run in the last few weeks and currently sitting almost halfway towards our crowd-funding campaign's target!

This is all to do with various parties of the World Record Attempt's brain trust pulling some strings (yes I said this on purpose haha) and engaging their music networks to participate.

Sydney Guitar Festival primarily deals with music venues, band managers and promotion agencies who are happy to share the message across, whereas, Australian Children's Music Foundation closely works with music schools and event organisers, who are just as excited to jump on board. But the real reason we are getting closer and closer to smashing out the world record is YOU guys!

And it only takes 30 seconds to invite your Facebook friends to the event by following the steps below:

1 Go to the official page of our Facebook event: https://www.facebook. com/events/826487597558454/?active_tab=discussion

2 Under the main picture of the event, there is a 'SHARE' button. Click on it and then click 'Invite Friends' in the drop-down menu

image

3 In the next menu click 'Select All' (at the top of the menu) and then 'Send Invites' (at the bottom of the menu)

image

That is all it takes!

Remember, all profits will go towards Australian Children's Music Foundation to support disadvantaged kids and change their lives with the power of music!

Thank you for being a part of this project! Let's make it happen!

Best Regards

The Largest Electric Guitar Ensemble

This message goes out to all the supporters of the official Largest Electric Guitarist Ensemble Guinness world record campaign.
We have news! We have decided to postpone the date of the record attempt due to the amazing opportunity to be an official event in the Sydney Guitar Festival 2018 program!
Something that started as a small idea a year ago has grown with your support and is now being incorporated in one of the most exciting guitar events in the Country. If you haven’t heard of Sydney Guitar Festival, I strongly encourage you to read up on it here: https://www.sydneyguitarfestival.com.au/
Last year’s Sydney Guitar Festival had a series of sold out shows, which included local and international guitar maestros! What an incredible collaboration this will be; a true celebration of music and guitar culture in Australia.
Because of this exciting collaboration, we can now officially announce the date and the venue for the record attempt: Sunday 12th August 2018 @ The Concourse in Chatswood, NSW. The time and further details will be announced closer to the date.

image

Now to the Terms and Conditions. The Sydney Guitar Festival is going to host the event, however, the funding for the record attempt will still be sourced from the participants.

This means that our crowd funding campaign needs to be successful in order to organise the record-breaking section of the event.

We still require the battery-amplified amps to make it work so nothing has changed from this end. We encourage you to purchase your participant tickets and invite your friends to join us as well. The success of the crowd funding campaign depends on each and every one of us.

The day and venue of the Sydney Guitar Festival will not change, as they will have their program planned irrespective of the success of our crowd funding campaign. So to make 2018 a year when Australia breaks the Guinness World Record, ensure you purchase your ticket in advance and spread the word with other guitarists!

If you not yet a supporter, be sure to take advantage of the ‘early bird’ price of the participant ticket which is currently available to you! As soon as we reach 50 participant tickets sold (aka ‘Participant Sponsor’ option on the crowd-funding page), the price of the participant tickets will increase to $30.

*** IMPORTANT UPDATES ***image

1.       Battery AMPs Model Change

Ever since the start of our crowdfunding campaign, to make it more successful, we’ve been looking for a more economical alternative to the battery powered guitar amps we had selected originally. We have now picked another model of the battery amps, which are less expensive and require fewer batteries to operate. We have tested the alternative model of the amp and, even though it has a smaller speaker than the initially selected model, it performs well and to the requirements of Guinness World Records. We have to stay focused on the actual goal of this event – to beat the Guinness World Record and secure it in Australia!

What has changed?

By selecting a more affordable model of the battery amp, we now have a more realistic financial goal! And that’s all because purchasing guitar amps is the largest expense in the entire project.

For all the supporters, who purchased the $35 Participant Sponsor option, as a sign of appreciation for your commitment to the project, we would like to also include the T-shirt valued at $20 to make up for the difference in the amp value. That being said, we understand that someone may prefer to have the difference in Participant Sponsor ticket price reimbursed. Should you choose this, please contact us before the end of December 2017, and we will organise it for you.

2.       Type of Crowdfunding Campaign Change

We are changing the campaign type from ‘’Flexible’’ to ‘’All or Nothing”.

A “Flexible” campaign means that we as organisers would be able to use the funds we receive to fulfilling the project’s commitments from the start. We would be able to purchase the amps even before the entire amount is collected. Similar goes for the venue – we could hire it in advance to ensure the venue is secured. However, we received feedback from supporters, who felt that they would rather like the campaign to be an ‘’All or Nothing’’ type.

‘’All or Nothing’’ means the funds get released to the organisers only then, when the full amount is collected (the financial goal of the campaign is achieved). Should the campaign not be successful, the funds would return back to the supporters (less the small percentage per transaction the crowdfunding web-site takes).

What has changed?

We appreciate the feedback coming from our supporters and made the decision to change the type of our campaign from “Flexible” to “All or Nothing”.

The good thing for you is that you will get your money back (less the small percentage per transaction the crowdfunding web-site takes), should we not achieve our financial goal in time.

The sad part about it is:

1.       We now have to move the date of the event. This is due to the fact that we will only be able to purchase the amps after the funds are released to us. Taking into consideration manufacturing time and delivery to Sydney, our new date of the event is Sunday the 22nd of April 2018.

2.       We will not be in the position to support the charity organisation on behalf of our sponsors. We will, however, encourage our supporters to support the charity organisation of their choice.

Again, thank you for your valuable feedback and support! We are now going full speed towards organising the Largest Electric Guitar Ensemble World Record Attempt! Please share this crowdfunding campaign with everyone! Only you can make this happen!

Best Regards,

Team Largest Electric Guitar Ensemble

C  Craig Deubler

Is it possible to sign up more than one person? I have kids who’d like to play too.

    J  Jill Storey

    Hi Craig – yes if you try the page now you should be able too. Hope you all have a fabulous time. With best wishes Jill

C  Cameron Small

I see theres still one spot for lead guitar. Can this be filled be a bass guitar or is it for guitars only?

    J  Jill Storey

    Hi Cameron – yes the spot can be filled by a bass guitar … there is one spot left — please let us know if you have any further questions …

C  Colin Pasfield

Hi – How do I inform you of my T-Shirt size I ordered?
Thanks,
Colin

C  Colin Pasfield

Hi ReadyFundGo,

I’ve pledged to the Guitar record campagne and also purchased a T-Shirt. You’ve asked that we provide our T-Shirt size but you’ve indicated insufficient information on how to do so. There are mixed messages of us needing to reply to an email and replying to an update. However, there’s no clear instructions on how to reply to the update and I can’t find a ‘reply’ button anywhere on the webpage. Please help!

Can you please provide explicit information on how we are supposed to communicate our T-Shirt size to you?

Thanks,
Colin

    Hi Colin
    Very many thanks for your message.

    Please e mail us your size of t-shirt to info@readyfundgo.com

    T-shirts are to be collected at the venue.
