Jules, Nicky, Avery and Jen are Obsession Quartet. Obsession is an a cappella quartet based in Brisbane/Gold Coast, Australia, singing primarily in the barbershop style. With over 35 years of barbershop experience between us, we have been obsessed with the craft since the day we found it.

We recently competed at the Sweet Adelines Region 34 (Australia) competition and qualified to compete at the Sweet Adelines International Annual Convention in New Orleans in September 2019. (OMG still pinching ourselves…!) This long-held dream is our goal each year; to get a high enough score to get to International is like making it to the Olympics! And this year we made it. For the first time ever. (Is this the real life?!)

Getting all four of us to New Orleans at short notice is an exciting but costly exercise. We’d be forever grateful for your support and would love to share our journey with you. All donations will go to covering the expenses of getting us on that international stage and making Australia, and you, proud.

We are four super creative ladies who love a laugh and share a special bond. We’ve created some unique incentives for our supporters to be part of the action and share in our story!

Do you fancy a recording of us?

Or want to be the cool kid wearing our merch? (Obsession t-shirts are the new black.)

Or maybe a lunch date and show? (We got the tunes and the moves and the food, boom!)

But wait! There’s more. (Really, there are lots of options to choose from.)

Got something else in mind? Want to buy some extra t-shirts? You can get in touch with us by email.

Short of dollars but got lots of *sense*? (See what we did there?) Like us on Facebook to keep up with our news and events. You can even share this fundraiser to help spread the love.

As a quartet, we are on a mission to achieve excellence as musicians, to create meaningful connections with you through song, to express ourselves fully, and to hold space for each other to explore and play and grow. For each of us, this achievement represents something unique.

Jen (Bass) has been a proud Sweet Adeline for 21 years and this will be her first time competing on the international stage in a quartet. As a judge, educator, and coach, this is a wonderful milestone in Jen’s career.

Avery (Baritone) is Jen’s daughter and was singing tags before she was born! To share this experience together is a dream come true for them both.

Nicky (Lead) has found a career as a musician through her love of the style and will use the experience as part of a research project.

Jules (Tenor) has been cheering on her husband for 25 years in Barbershop quartets. Now, she has *turned the tables* (get it?!) and we know her family are thrilled to bits to see her shine.

We estimate that flights, accommodation, registration, transport in the US, and other expenses will cost about $5,000 each ($20,000 total).
