The concept of the Ariel App was established by two Australian disability support workers, who understand the obstacles people with a disability face everyday. Jordan and Kate, the directors of Ariel Community, have been able to combine their experiences, industry data, and community feedback to identify key gaps in the disability sector that the Ariel App will work to resolve.

The delivery of the Ariel App will establish a centralised mobile platform that will improve access to information, as well as enhance social and community participation for people living with a disability.

One of the key objectives of the Ariel App is to deliver an IT solution that empowers people with a disability to have more choice and control in the services they engage with in their community. To improve choice and control, the Ariel App will allow carers, support coordinators and disability support workers to better deliver the practical implementation of social inclusion, community participation and individualised support through the Ariel App.

The Ariel App will increase the capacity for informed decision making for people with a disability, and their families. It will also work to promote inclusiveness by actively striving to bridge the gap between support services and vulnerable groups by improving accessibility.

The Ariel App will also allow Australian organisations to promote themselves as disability inclusive. This provides them an additional marketing platform that will not only improve their business, but will also help break down barriers for people living with a disability.

We have been working tirelessly over the past few months to develop and refine the Ariel App concept. This has included engaging with numerous disability support service providers in our local community, facilitating open community information days to gather needed feedback, providing online surveys for community input, and analysing the most up to date disability sector data, all to ensure that the product we will be developing will add needed value to the community.

We now have a fully functioning prototype of the Ariel App which is currently being user-tested to validate the final concept prior to development of the app. The release of the app is a multistage process with an initial pilot to be facilitated in the Hunter region (NSW, Australia), prior to a national Australia rollout. Through the delivery of the Ariel App we will also be providing paid, volunteer, and intern roles to the disability community.

We have been extensive with our research, concept validation, and community engagement to ensure we will be developing a viable and valuable app. The only thing missing is the finance to develop the Ariel App.

We would love, and appreciate, any support you can provide to help us make this concept a reality for the disability community.
