What is a by-product:
Our farmers harvest grains every year as usual. Our straws are the leftovers of the harvest: the rye stalks. Mister RYE is a by-product.
Where are the straws manufactured?
Mister RYE is manufactured in our workshop based in Adelaide.
Where are the packaging manufactured?
Mister RYE only works with local resources and manpower. Our packaging are made in Adelaide using certified recycled cardboard that is 100% biodegradable.
Do you ship world-wide?
Mister RYE is only available in Australia as our main mission is to use local resources to fight the 10 million straws used every day in Australia. We are fighting other imported alternatives for their carbon impact. It doesn’t make sense to ship Mister RYE overseas.
What happens if we don’t hit our fundraising target?
It is an “all or nothing” campaign which means if we don’t hit our target, we won’t be able to launch the project and you will get your money back. So, we have to smash our target!
What’s to stop us running away overseas with all your money?
Marion and Alexis have invested both their own savings for the project. They also moved to the other side of the planet to launch it, leaving family, friends and comfort zone behind them. They could give another 20,000 reasons to not disappear overseas 🙂

Announcement: Mister RYE changing its business strategy and we have decided to stop the campaign earlier than expected. There are a few good reasons for this:
- Our main target is businesses
- Businesses don’t usually use crowdfunding, therefore a direct sales model is needed
- We want to pivot as soon as possible to better target businesses and events
- We have found ways to improve our current processes and reduce our costs to be more competitive in the market

We are very grateful for all of you who have pledged or pre-ordered 15,000 straws, as this is a huge help to support our launch. All pre-orders will be delivered on time, as planned at the end of January. Given our campaign was an 'all or nothing campaign', we will need you to confirm via return email confirmation that you are happy to continue with your order and therefore be charged.
If you feel disappointed by this decision, and would like to cancel your pledge, we understand and would appreciate if you can also confirm your order cancellation by return email.

More than a drinking straw, Mister RYE represents the fight for the environment, supports our local economy and provides a real solution to reduce our impact.
Being fully transparent with you, Australia has more than 90,000 hospitality venues and about 3M parents looking for alternative to plastic. At the moment Mister RYE is very far away from launching its initial production as remember, it’s an all or nothing campaign, if we don’t reach our objective, we won’t be able to produce our first straws.
25 days left and we need YOUR HELP and YOUR SUPPORT to meet our full objective! A few hundred venues and people supporting this project would allow us to get Mister RYE off the ground. More than that, it would support a positive solution to the climate change and plastic crisis that is concerning all of us. How amazing would that be?! Remember every little helps.
