SYNOPSIS
‘The Speaker’ is an experimental short film that explores the space between documentary and narrative.
The actor, Carole Patullo will respond to a series of architectural spaces that show the stages of constructing a room. Her performance will react to these changing spaces to form the structure of the film.
Carole will go through a series of repetive takes until her natural instincts and the written script align. A critical point is reached when she is caught between performing in a film and experiencing the set in one instantaneous moment.

CAMERA
As we travel through the four rooms we will be shooting on multiple film stocks at different angles to realise the construction of the image as well as the performance. (see image below)
SET BUILD
We will be constructing a set that will grow from a simple studded frame to a fully completed white room
PROPS
We will be following the construction of a porceline cup. From porceline powder to a completed white cup.
